She is not afraid to tell the things as they are. She is not so pretty but very helpful, intelligent, honest. Marian Halcombe: She is the half sister of Laura. She sacrifices her happiness for the promise she made to her dead father. She loves to play the piano an likes to draw. Laura Fairlie (Lady Glyde): She is a beautiful women. In the story he over won his shyness and became very brave and heroic. Walter Hartright: He is a young art teacher. Walter and Laura moved back to Limmeridge House and got married. Now there wasn’t any more proof but Sir Glyde got what he deserved! One night, Sir Glyde wants to steal that book, but the church burns own and he dies. Anne discovered that so that is way he had sent her away. If someone would found out, he would lose everything. There he finds that Sir Glyde wrote the name of his parents himself. Walter visits Anne’s mother and she sends him to the church to find out who the parents were of Sir Glyde. They still didn’t know the secret of Sir Glyde. So the Woman in White was dead and not Laura. Sir Glyde and Count Fosco switched her with Anne. He still loved Laura so much, he had to go to Limmeridge, to Laura’s grave. Walter heard the news and couldn’t believe it. But when Laura arrived in London she fainted a lot and died. Sir Glyde told her that Marian lived in London now, in the house of Count Fosco and that she would also be going there. Count Fosco moved her to another wing of the house which Laura didn’t know. Now she looked even more at the Woman in White.

Mr Fairlie offered him a job to teach his two nieces, Marian and Laura. He helps her find a carriage to take her to London. The story begins with the meeting between Walter Hartright and the Woman in White.
